Somebody’s Lying

Why are there polls that have this race so close (AP) and yet we hear of nearly a double digit lead for Obama in others? Are some pollsters trying to change perceptions of this election, are are they accurate reflections of the electorate? What do you think?

  1. Certain polls omit cell-phone users (some include them). Certain polls are limited to “likely voters” and don’t reflect newly registered voters. I think there is little doubt that some of the recent Republican fear mongering has struck a chord with some undecideds and closet racists and xenophobes. The race is tightening.

  2. I think the polls are all accurate depictions of the fact that no one knows what they’re talking about.

There is only ONE constant when it comes to predicting the future, and that’s a thorough understanding of the past. And the past has indicated that these polls mean nothing, especially over the last 12 years.

Because no poll can accurately predict who will actually show up on election day, they mean nothing. Personally, I think the elite left will be in for a surprise on election day.
